It is called Imagicademy and it will be here on December 11th right in time for Christmas folks! From the demo, it looks great for educators wanting to engage students with mobile learning. The demo covers the Math and Arts app, but there are plans for more that will cover math, creative arts, science, language arts, and social skills. Get ready, the apps will be free at first and will offer a great experience before they begin to charge a whopping $4.99 for each game or $19.00 for all five. QR Code Lesson for Students

Teachers at our District have been ending the year with exciting lessons for students with QR codes. This one is by Brenda Jones, a GT 3rd grade teacher at LCM. Here are her words explaining about her lesson:
"I created this to get the students excited about Charlotte’s Web. We just completed the book and we usually fill in a worksheet about the characters (matching name to character description). I just threw those character descriptions into the QR codes and Yay; no more boring worksheet. I also began my lesson with one big QR code on the whiteboard that they had to scan first to get directions. They also had QR codes on their desk that revealed their names. They practiced with the names first, then the directions. When they felt comfortable with the scanner, we began our scavenger hunt. They loved it"!
I have included the QR Code Auto Generator template that she said she put the character descriptions into. Feel free to use it with your own content. (Make a copy before Edits) Brenda said she received the template from a workshop she attended and the owner (wish I knew her name) was willing to share. Brenda also took pictures of her students during the lesson and placed them on a Tackkboard so she could share the lesson with parents from Tackk.com. Thanks Brenda for sharing your fun with us! My new Tool: QR Voice

I've been playing with a new tool today! It is called QR Voice. So very easy to use and works in minutes. It allows you 100 characters, and you can post to Facebook or Twitter! It has a slider that allows you to size the QR code that will be scanned. Here are the steps for those who can't wait to use it:
How does it work?
- Enter a message up to 100 characters
- Optionally choose a language in which the message is written and will be reproduced
- Optionally resize the desired qr-code image to be generated using the slider
- Clickgeneratebutton, the one with a tiny qr-code in it
- The qr-code will be generated in the center of the screen
- You can scan it with your smartphone qr-code scanner app in order to hear the message
- Use the link above the qr-code image to save/share/embed/print the final qr-code image
- Use the social buttons to spread the word about your recent generated qr-voice. Browser URL location is also bookmarkable
